Go Ride

  • At the recent meeting between the Go Ride coaches, the CWO and the Club Chairman, it was agreed that Go Ride would be discontinued as a Club initiative.
  • It was agreed that the Juniors/Go Ride section of the Club website would be removed (Action: RO to speak with Alec).
  • It was agreed to remove Go Ride from future committee agendas (Action: AMc).
  • The committee expressed its thanks on behalf of all members for the energy and dedication put in to Go Ride by Terry Davies, Steve Lyons and Gareth Davies, in particular, as well as everyone else who provided support in any way. The committee wished Terry, Steve and Gareth well for their future coaching ambitions.

Treasurer’s Report

  • The Treasurer advised that club finances remain healthy.
  • Club membership currently stands at 84, with 81 renewals and 3 new members. This is consistent with the membership renewal profile from 2014.
  • A cheque for £1250 has been issued to the EAAA. This completes the charitable donations paid from Autumn Breeze 2014 profits.
  • The latest kit order is due to arrive in early April.

Racing and Time Trials

  • Affiliation with the Eastern Counties Cycling Association (ECCA) was confirmed.
  • Club TT dates and times to be published on the website by end February. A “come and try” session is planned for 23 April with racing starting the following week.
  • New TT signs and race numbers have arrived.
  • Roadworks are still on the Abbotsley course and contingency plans will be discussed at the next committee meeting.
  • Purchase of x2 first aid kits and x2 flasks (for post-TT tea and coffee) approved (Action: AMc to speak with Mandy).
  • Open TT venue for 17 May 2015 to be reviewed (Action: SR).
  • Entry to the Silverstone Team TT was approved. The Club can enter a team of 9 riders at a total cost of £250. It was agreed that the club would subsidise 50% of the entry fee as the organisers donate 100% of proceeds to charity.
  • Our NCRA Open Road Race will be held on 21 March 2015. Additional equipment required to support the NCRA race includes (but is not limited to) a bell, a lap board and flags (Action: RO).
  • Keysoe Hall has been booked and we currently have 8 volunteers assisting. A few more volunteers are required (Action: RO).
  • The Club is entering a team in the Rockingham Two-Day in June, with four riders signed up and one further place still to be filled.

CCF

  • Nothing to report.

  • About 20 members are attending the curry night on 27 February.
  • It was agreed that the Century ride to Finchingfield would go ahead on 2 August 2015, the same date as Ride London.
  • It was proposed that the Club consider promoting a reliability ride in February 2016. Further discussion needed (Action: SW).
  • It was agreed that The Hell of St Neots, Hot Cross Club Run, Rutland Cicle Classic, Women’s Tour of Britain rides would all be promoted in the next few weeks (Action: RO, SW, AMc).
  • Non-local rides in Rutland, Essex and the Chilterns to be promoted for Summer 2015. Mark Colmer is coordinating.

Autumn Breeze 2015

  • Date confirmed as 4 October.

AOB

  • It was proposed that the next committee meeting should primarily focus on ways to provide fresh content on the Club site.
  • It was agreed that the committee should review how the Club could support and retain racing talent. It was further agreed that the Club should investigate how to support non-racing members who actively contribute to Club life (Action: RO will review and report back at the April committee meeting).
  • It was agreed that only current Club members could represent the Club at races and sign up for Club events (such as the Dales and Elan Valley trips). Racers and testers will be reminded that they need to renew their memberships if racing in Club colours (Action: RO).
  • It was agreed that the weekly club run emails should be revamped to make the extra information now included easier to read (Action: RO to work with GN and Mark Colmer).
  • It was agreed that future committee meeting dates would be advertised so members can attend if they wish.

The March committee meeting will be held at the White Horse in Eaton Socon on Monday 16 March at 19:30. All club members are welcome to attend.
