Another excellent turnout this evening with 20 riders seeking to improve on their PBs and to add to their points tally for the Handicap Trophy. Compared with the storms of last week the conditions were much more in favour of good performances with only a slight wind and a relatively cool evening. 16 members, 1 “Come and Try” and 3 guests made up the field.

Tom Stead posted a PB at 28.14 as did Ron Black with a 35.11 and Steve Rodley took another second off his PB with a 29.54. Well done. Star performance was from Phil Tily who took over 3 minutes off his first TT last week to deliver a 35.24. Richard Hancock was pitted against Ian Turner again and this time Richard prevailed with an excellent time of 25.37 to keep “top spot” for the evening. Adrian Taverna and Keith Ritchie could not have been closer to delivering a sub 30 minutes TT with both recording 30.03.

We have now had 48 different competitors ride our TTs this season compared to 31 in 2011 and the season is still not finished. Keep spreading the word!

Handicap Trophy Update

It continues very tight at the top of this year’s leader board and for the first time in a few weeks Jonathan Pang has been relegated from the top spot to be replaced by “Mr Consistent”, Steve Rodley who now has 101.50 points to his name.

Steve Pleasance is not giving up and was back amongst the points to sit only 3 points behind Steve.

Wayne Tunnah, Richard Hancock, Adrian Taverna, Rob Black and David Lindsay are all poised to make a move over the remaining 5 weeks of the competition and it is likely to be a “bunched sprint” finish to decide the eventual winner.
