Treasurer’s Report

  • The Club has approx £8k in the bank, including income from the Autumn Breeze sportive. This is expected to be reduced to approx. £5k with payments due to Endura for the latest kit order and CTT for the 2014 & 2015 TT levies. Further expenditure will be required on new equipment required to support racing/TT for the 2016 season.
  • Profits from the Autumn Breeze sportive are likely to be limited to £500 due to additional expenses relating to equipment (such as signs) and food purchases for the feedstations.
  • Club membership currently stands at 142, slightly down from 155 during the same period last year.
  • CTT cheque to the value of £750 for 2014 has still not been presented (see above) and will be followed up with CTT again (Action: SR & AH).
  • CTT levy for 2015 will be approximately £800, with the Club seeing a profit of approximately £100 (Action: SR & AH).
  • Some members who attended the Silverstone TTT have still not paid their £10 entry fee at the time of writing. This will be followed-up again as the Club has already subsidised entry to this event (Action: SR).
  • Spinning classes have been filled for October and all payments received.
  • Four tickets for the Awards Dinner have been sold to date.

Racing and Time Trials

  • Details of the 2014 & 2015 CTT levies are provided in the Treasurer's Report.
  • A number of signs from the Club TT have gone missing. Cost of replacement is likely to be in the region of £60 if they cannot be located (Action: SR).
  • Invoice relating to 2 * first aid kits paid.
  • The committee agreed to continue participation in the Inter-Club series for 2016 and to promote one event. Due to the likely number of participants this cannot be the Abbotsley course, so an alternative course will be agreed (Action: SR).
  • The committee agreed not to promote an Open TT event for 2016.
  • The Club Hill Climb will go ahead on 11 October 2015 (Action: SR).
  • Eastern Cross and Central League Cross racing has now started, with a small number of members racing so far.
  • The Grafham race will take place on 1 November and members are encouraged to attend and try out racing on home soil or just shout for the Club (Action: SR).
  • The Club will promote 2 * NCRA races in 2016. The Spring event will go ahead again as well as a second event as part of the NCRA Summer Series (Action: RO).
  • The Club will also promote 2 races as part of the Alconbury Series (Action: RO).
  • The committee agreed not to affiliate with ERRL, although affiliation with ECCA is to be considered (Action: RO).

CCF

  • Nothing to report.

Social Plans

  • 11 members attended the September curry night.
  • The Annual Awards Dinner will be on 27 November this year (Action: SW).
  • The Club is planning to host a Reliability Ride early in 2016 using Titan as a base (Action: SW).
  • The Hog & Partridge are to be approached regarding hosting the Club's annual Wide-Eyed & Legless ride on New Year's Day (Action: AMc)

Autumn Breeze 2015

  • The sportive (run the previous day) was again very popular with 115 riders on the day (125 paid). Early feedback was very positive with special mentions received for the route, Club volunteers, the weather and feedstations.
  • Some rider (and member) feedback suggested the route signs could be clearer (Action: RO).
  • The Club will make a donation from profits to MAGPAS, although this will be much lower than last year due to increased costs (see Treasurer's Report) (Action: RO & AH).
  • Planning has already started for next year, with One Leisure booked for Sunday 2 October 2016 (Action: RO).

Bidlake Memorial

    • Still no commitment of support from other local Clubs. SR has asked a local gardening services company to provide a quote for maintenance. When this is received the committee will review next steps. The Club will keep the Bidlake Memorial Trust updated on all actions taken (Action: SR).

AGM 2015

  • The Club AGM is scheduled for 11 November at St Neots Golf Club on Crosshall Road (Action: AMc).
  • The Club Chairman and Club Secretary confirmed that they will not be seeking re-election to those positions at the AGM.

AOB

  • The Committee agreed that rental of a local storage unit for Club equipment was too costly, with the minimum cost coming in at £840 per year.
  • An inventory of Club equipment is to be undertaken (Action: RO).
  • The Club received a request from a Welsh cycling club to use our etiquette guide, which was granted.

October Committee Meeting

  • The next committee meeting will be held in the Dickens Room of the White Horse in Eaton Socon on Monday 19 October at 19:30.
