Second for the second week running...

SNCC narrowly missed out on a team win for the second time in two weeks on Sunday. Having been just pipped for the team win at the Cambridge CC 25, a five strong team made their way over to the E1/25 course near Saffron Walden on Sunday to test themselves on one of the oldest TT courses in the country.

After sign on at the historic Lea Valley CC hut at Ugley it was fortunately only a short ride out to the course on a wet and windy morning. The E1/25 is a picturesque rolling out and back course passing through some pretty villages and with the imposing sight of Audley End House,  there's plenty to take your mind off the pain of giving it your all for 25 miles!

The conditions on the day did slow the riders down a bit with 9 wet roundabouts and some fairly sharp bends to be negotiated .

This week it was the three man team of Sam McDonald, Keith Barton and Pat Ellerbeck just missing out to Chelmer CC on team win, Keith having been joined by David Lindsay and Mark Greenhow for the second place at the Cambridge CC

Again it's been a great season for the TT side of the club with an increased participation by riders flying the flag for SNCC in open events and most riders seeing good improvements in their times, but of course theirs always room for more to join in and it would be great to see more of the Thursday evening TT crowd entering some local opens and of course the inter-club series.
