At 5pm the sun was shining, but by 7.30 pm when the first rider was on the start line for tonight’s TT the heavens had opened and the rain was pouring down.

This did not deter the 23 riders who had had registered for the TT  (although to be fair, by this stage, one or two were now making telephone calls asking to be picked up after the TT). We had two “ Come and Try” entrants, Phil and Dave, and two guests including Stephen Halsall who joined us a couple of times last year.

Wayne Tunnah was on top form this evening delivering a PB of 29.13 and there were 5 others sub 30 minutes on a testing evening. Ade could not have been closer to another sub 30 with a 30.01. Once again Richard Hancock delivered the best time of the evening with a 26.02. Given the conditions an excellent turn out on the night and so far this season we have had 41 different riders take part in our TT.

Handicap Trophy Update

With a maximum of 19 points available from tonight (NB although 23 riders started, only club members count in the points tally) there could definitely be a shift in the placings. Wayne’s 19 points has certainly put him back into contention and as forecast Ade , with 18 points, is quietly building towards the finish. Steve Rodley, although not having one of his better nights, still took 9 points to keep second place and Steve Pleasance with 8 points is only one point behind in third place. Strong performances from Adrian Lancaster, Adrian Lewis and Richard Hancock helped provide good points scoring on the night. Despite these performances Jonathan Pang continues to wear the “yellow jersey” with a total of 95 points. It remains almost impossible to predict the eventual winner at this time.
