Club's doubled in size, there might well be takers, and if so, the more options we have the better.

Why don't you just call it a bike ride ? There are not many people that have a clue about riding a chain gang slow or fast so if the numbers are growing and there is interest just call it a ride. A strong rider would struggle to do a 20mph in good weather let alone the winter most people struggle riding 2x2 let alone a chain. Save an accident . Ride safe . Ciao x (G junior )

Why all the negativity? If people don't know how to ride through and off then they can learn - it's not that hard - or they can do 1/2 mile turns. 20mph on that route is readily doable by people at Ruth's level - old and weak as I am, I have done 21mph on that route in a group of three.

No-one complains about calling the Tuesday regulars a chain gang - so what's wrong with this: it's a fallacy to think that the 1 - 2mph greater speed by the Tuesday guys means they have better bike handling skills. No-one is forcing anyone to turn up on Wednesdays - if Ruth wants to set up a ride on Wednesdays to be the same as Tuesdays but two mph slower, why shouldn't she?

Ruth as long as my work dictates I would be willing to go out, as I would see this as a step up earlier next year to go out with out with the chain gang on a Tuesday night. I have done through and off before and I would be willing to help the others new to a chain gang to have that experience. Let's all be honest we all have to start somewhere and this is the perfect platform. As Alec has rightly said the club has got bigger and so have the options we now need to offer those individuals wanting to improve themselves.
Overall it is to increase fitness and to have a bit of fun along the way, mind you don't think we would be thinking that after 30 odd miles.
