Code of conduct was created by Tony
Given the club's massive expansion of the last couple of years, I'm wondering if a code of conduct for members may be something the committee might want to look at? We don't appear to have one, most clubs do (well, most club's websites I've looked at anyway). Something like this?: www.welwynwheelers.org.uk/index.php/club...lers-code-of-conduct

Just a thought.

TBH, no-one should have to. When it comes to renewing your subs or a new member joins, they're agreeing to the terms of the CoC. If someone does contrevene it, then it gets dealt with accordingly.

That only covers club runs Geoff. This would cover all events run under the club banner and possibly, general conduct for all members.

Not being disrespectful but if I was about to pay my £20 and this was put to me along the lines of 'behave yourself or else then my £20 would go elsewhere.
That doesnt mean I don't agree that we should all be nice, but I think the relaxed atmosphere (most of the time) of SNCC is one of its better characteristics and should be embraced. A quiet word in the ear should be sufficient. With such a huge demographic now, the club will never please everyone.

That's precisely IMO why there should be such be such a document. Everyone knows where the line is. No one is being forced to part with their money for subs so if they don't like it then don't join. Simple.

Can someone clarify what the boundaries this would entail. Ie: does include twitter, facebook, strava and any social media that has been officially put on by the club, by this I mean a page created by the club

You'd think so, but I've known of a few instances where people didn't like it when being advised that their behaviour wasn't ideal.

I'd imagine it would cover club run sections like this, but I'd like to think publicly viewable comments made between members on any social network would be within those boundaries anyway.
