This last week we've had a few TTs, a Crit and a couple of Road Races, unfortunately we've also had a couple of crashes, good luck to those who crashed and we hope to see Paul and Stassi back on the road soon. We also had our Inter Club which went well (even with a crash) and we had 25 starters, our thanks go to all the volunteers, there is a separate report for this event. Great to see so many race reports please keep them coming.

Pat's Race Report - Tuesday last British Masters Crit of the year at the Bowl. Went off very fast anti clockwise straight into the western car park, a group of 8 of us broke away, 2 of us were from my age group the rest were 6O-65 age group, continued at a fast pace and even overtook the 40-59 age group, got dropped with a couple of laps to go, lost position when lapping some tailenders to finish second in my age group average speed 24.5 mph and not far of 300 watts. Average end of a very enjoyable season at the bowl. Lots more other racing to come.

Fri 26th Jul Beverley GP Anastasia Bowler DNF (Crashed after 5 miles)
Stassi's Race Report - Beverley GP. Not the end I wanted to the national circuit series.
On Friday we arrived in Beverley for the final round of the circuit series. The weather was lovely and the vibe in the crowd was great. I was shuffled back in the sighting lap, so was near the back to start but a fast flat course meant I worked my way up into the first half of the group, which mainly stayed together. It still involved some sprinting out of corners but I'd say this was the best place I'd been on these races, and I wasn't having to put an all out effort in to stay in the group. Unfortunately about 15 minutes into the race, I was heading around a corner and my front wheel slipped out. I don't know if I took it too hot, if I wasn't used to a change in position or if there was a bit of grit on course, but either way it ended with me hitting the deck at 25mph. I stayed down until everyone passed and then tried to get up to continue, it was only then I realised how painful my shoulder was. No broken bones but some muscle damage and a potential sprain means some time off the bike. I'm hoping to get on the turbo soon but steering the bike might be a week or so away yet. For now I guess it's recovery and watching the Olympics!

Sun 28th Jul British Masters Stallard Hetton Park Crit Pat Ellerbeck 3rd 31 miles
Pat's Racing Report - Last BM stallard race for me today (miss the last 2 races as away) pity as won’t have done enough races to qualify but got to be happy with a 1st, 2nd and today a third in a hard ridden crit at Hetton Park up near Durham just lost out in the final sprint. Raced with 60+ and 65+ age groups so a strong pace 31.5 miles at 23mph and normalised power of 280 watts worth the 3.25 hr drive.
