Superb conditions for the 29 riders who took part in the TT, and congratulations to the 12 who set PB’s this evening. Even John and Brian were struggling to remember the last time we had that many in the field.

Good to see Geoff Smith back amongst us for a few weeks from his home in France and welcome to Craig Jalall, Anne Woods and Mick Lawrence who all made their TT debuts.

Richard Ostler and Tom Stead were both under 28 minutes for the first time, Wayne Tunnah got under 29 minutes and Steve Rodley and Adrian Taverna again delivered sub 30 minute performances. Steve Blows with a 30.03 PB could not have been much closer to his first sub 30 minute time.

The Stapleton sisters with PB’s of 32.40 and 34.46 have now taken 3 minutes and 2 minutes of their initial times. Steve Pleasance moved under 32 minutes for the first time this season and Andrew Poodle managed to find another 25 seconds to improve his PB.

New boys Jeremy Griggs and Dave Standring continue to improve week on week, with Jeremy taking maximum points in the Handicap Trophy competition.

Richard Hancock led the field with a 25.49 with Justin Lomas on 26.55.

Handicap Trophy Update

With a maximum of 25 points up for grabs this evening this was the night to beat your PB and to move up the leader board.

Steve Pleasance was the major beneficiary of the large field and by taking 48 seconds from his PB secured 24 points to take him to 122.50 points. Steve Rodley took another 17 seconds from his PB to give him 17 points on the night and leave him 4 points behind the leader. Jeremy Griggs took over a minute from his first TT last week to secure the maximum 25 points.

There are only 4 TT’s left for this season and with the main holiday month of August now upon us it is likely that some people will miss one or two TT’s which could see a shift in the current leader board. If we continue to get 20 or more on the TT nights and you deliver a PB then it is still possible to challenge the leaders over the next 4 weeks.
