TT Results – 20th June
A few folk may regret not attending the TT this evening as the conditions were excellent as evidenced by the 6 PBs recorded . The heavy downpour had dissipated by the start of the TT and although the skies were grey and heavy there was hardly any wind for the 12 riders tackling the 11.2 mile sporting course.
Darren Preston continues to impress and led the field home with his first sub-28 minutes. Despite coming off at the infamous adverse camber at Waresely, Adrian Taverna still posted a 28.51 to take second place. Kye Liddle on his first TT was sub 30 minutes and Dan Baxter was delighted to record his first sub 30 minutes.
The three Cambourne boys, Darren, Dan and Kye, were all under 30 minutes so the ride in from Cambourne must be the ideal warm up for the TT.
Other PBs went to David Wilson , Simon Richardson , Jon Keefe and Jonathan Pang.
This Thursday’s time trial takes place at the Croxton junction about a mile to the east of Abbotsley village with sign on at 7pm for a 7.15pm start. Non members are welcome to “Come and Try”
Ashman Trophy – Saturday 13th July: If this is not already in your diary then mark it in now. This is the oldest trophy in the Club dating back to 1938 and is based on 2 circuits of the Abbotsley course. In addition to the Ashman Trophy which is on an Handicap basis we are also presenting a trophy for the fastest scratch time on the day so plenty of silverware will be on offer on 13th July.

Handicap Trophy
Jon Keefe who has now been top of the leaderboard for the past eight weeks shows no sign of relinquishing his attempt to win the trophy for 2013. Dan Baxter is well placed to make a late run for the title but needs a night with a few more riders and therefore points to start closing the gap. The table can easily alter once the holiday season begins and riders miss one or two TT’s, so it is still very difficult to predict the eventual winner with 12 events left this season.
