4th July – TT Results
17 riders took part in the 11th TT of this season and following on from his excellent 26.38 of last week, Tom Stead took another minute of this time to deliver another PB in 25.38.
This is very close to the best time for this season delivered by Ian Turner in 25.26. Well done to Tom and to Yvonne Cosbie, Chris Goodsall, Jon Keefe and Gareth Smith for also securing PBs on the 11.2 mile sporting course.
The course record is 24.53 held by Justin Lomas and will this be under threat this season?
It was good to see the father/daughter combination of George and Florence Lendrum out this evening and also thanks to Keith Ritchie for stepping in to help with the timekeeping in Colin’s absence; and also to Tim Pennell for lending first timer Alan Reeves an inner tube to allow him to take part following his puncture on the warm up.
This Thursday’s time trial takes place at the Croxton junction about a mile to the east of Abbotsley village with sign on at 7pm for a 7.15pm start. Non members are welcome to “Come and Try”

Handicap Trophy
It looks like the destination of the Trophy will be decided on the last night of the season, just as in 2012, and it is likely that the winner will come from the current top 5 placings. Jon Keefe has been relentless in his pursuit of this trophy and clearly did not want to relinquish the lead. That drove him to go under 33 minutes for the first time to open up a gap on Adrian Taverna. Dan Baxter and Gareth Smith are both working hard to improve on their times and could close the gap over the remaining 9 weeks as could Jonathan Pang
Remember that the Ashman Trophy on Saturday 13th July also counts towards the Handicap Trophy and if we have a good turn out then there will be plenty of points on offer to cause a few changes on the leaderboard.
As the holiday season approaches one or two Thursdays might be missed and this could also make a difference to the eventual outcome.
