Fastest time this season and 14 PBs

Ian Turner recorded the fastest time this season (and the second best time ever) of 25 mins 15 secs over the 11.2 mile Abbotsley course with Tom Stead in 2nd (25:35) whilst Chris Ritchie and Richard Hancock both posted an identical 25:38 to take joint 3rd.

27 competitors took part in the Time Trial on a warm, sunny evening with a testing breeze facing the riders through the Gamlingay Cinqs. Of the 27 riders who competed, 14 set Personal Bests and there were debut rides from Abi Bruce and Judith Hancock.

In the Handicap Trophy, maximum points went to Joanne Fitzsimons who shaved 1:54 from her previous best; whilst Hastan Brooks might have been “Lantern Rouge” on the night but he took almost an identical time off his PB.

In the overall standings, the leaderboard is still headed by Jon Keefe from Gareth Smith whilst Simon Richardson leapfrogged Adrian Taverna into third position with Andy Holt now in 5th. There are now just 5 events left in the season which ends on Thursday 29th August so there a still plenty of points available to change the overall standings.
