TT Results - 14th August 2014
14 riders for the 3rd to last TT of the 2014 season and we were joined by two regular guests in Neil Wood and Andrew Knowles and two first time guests in Richard Leech and Becky Layland (sister of club member Michael). Once again we had to use the shortened course and the riders were led home by Neil Wood in a time of 25.56 followed by Nic Pillinger on 26.20 and Simon Richardson on 27.55.
Richard and Becky both posted respectable times and we are delighted to announce that Becky has now joined the Club which will help reduce the average age of the club membership! George Lendrum was the only one on the night to improve his time on the shortened course (N.B. This was Nic’s first ride on the shortened course so we cannot compare like for like) compared with the previous week when seven riders improved on their times.
Now that we are into the holiday season the numbers at the TT will reduce, however we would encourage all members to try and join us for the last two rides of 2014 if they are at home.
Handicap Trophy
Nic Pillinger took the maximum 10 points on the evening (guests do not count towards the handicap points) followed by George and the evergreen Leon who continues to defy his 72 years by turning in consistent times week after week.
Chris Tredidgo is now within 12 points of the leader Martin Kirby and with Martin back from holiday next week it is likely that, once again, the final destination of the 2014 Trophy will be unknown until the last race of the season.
21st August 2014 – Please Note the Change to the Start Time
This Thursday’s time trial takes place at the Croxton junction about a mile to the east of Abbotsley village with sign on at the latest at 6.45pm for a 7.00 pm start. Non-members are welcome to “Come and Try.
