With family duties having taken their toll on some of the registered riders, 10 SNCC riders took to the start line of the Cambridge CC 10 on the F2D/10 course on Saturday in a high quality field of over 100 riders.
Conditions were best described as 'challenging' with a head wind making the largely eastwards & uphill out-leg a relatively slow grind, with the turn back to the finish seeing many run out of gears as average speeds headed northwards of 30mph.
Although not everyone was delighted with their times, I'm not sure they count for too much given the conditions - I was around 30 secs a mile slower outwards than the last time I rode that course without any wind.
The overall win was taken by Ashley Cox of Luton in a very quick time of 20.12; fastest lady was Bronwyn Ewing of Trainsharp in 23.08 and the team prize (if I've worked it out properly) going to Team Sales Engine with a 1.05.39, not too far ahead of our 1.07.05
