The club is very pleased to announce that we have been accepted for affiliation to the Central Cyclocross League for the coming season; one of the main 'cross leagues in the country and with races for all ages and abilities which will allow SNCC members to compete both individually and in team events 'closed' to non-affiliated clubs or riders.
Details of the CCXL 2015/16 programme of events can be seen on the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CentralCXLeague and although the standard of competition will be very high in some categories hopefully SNCC riders will be able to make their mark throughout the course of the season. Separate events for Senior men, Senior Women, Male Veteran 40-49, Male Veteran 50+, Women Veterans, Junior, Youth, Under 12 & Under 10s mean everyone should find themselves riding at the 'right' level, although in all honesty the 'short lap' nature of CycloCross racing is such that riders are soon mixed up and nobody can really tell who is in which position or lap so that as long as you keep heading in the right direction you'll look good!
You don't need any special licence to race in the league, although membership of British Cycling will save you a further £3 for each race entry, whether on-line via BC website or 'pay on the day'. Each CCXL event is always well attended by riders, supporters and photographers so there are always plenty of photos afterwards to prove just how atrocious conditions were!
As you'll be able to see from their website, the League also organisers various training sessions for riders of all abilities, and having benefited from these last year I can highly recommend them - see http://www.stneotscyclingclub.info/the-club/members-exploits/367-simon-tests-the-muddy-waters
Hopefully see as many of you as possible in the most-accessible, friendliest & fun form of racing there is.
