SNCC TT results for 19th May 2016
In a complete contrast with the previous week when we had sun and warmth the 29 riders this evening were faced with an overcast sky, the threat of rain and the wind certainly not in our favour until we reached Waresley.
However this did not stop young Jake Hennessey from posting an excellent 24:50 to get within 8 seconds of Ian Turner’s Club record of 24:42 from 2015. This was Jake’s first TT on the full course (one TT in 2015 on a short course night due to roadworks) and it will be interesting to see if the course record will be lowered again during 2016.
Also congratulations to Glyn Cartwright, Chris Green, Sam McDonald (his fourth PB in successive weeks) Tim Gee and Simon Murphy on their PBs this evening. It was definitely hard work round the course this evening and the PBs were earned.
Chris Green ( 2015 Handicap Trophy winner) has made a late start to the 2016 season but with two successive PBs and 14 TT’s left could be making a run to retaining the Trophy. He has now taken over 4 minutes from his opening time in 2015.
The age range on the night went from 14 to 73 and it is great to see such a diverse age range able to participate and enjoy competing together.
So far 35 club members have taken part in the TTs and with a current membership of 136 we would encourage more to “Come and Try”
Ashman Handicap Trophy: Sunday 10th July
A date for your diaries to compete for the oldest trophy in the Club dating back to 1938. The Ashman is two circuits of the Abbotsley course (22.4 miles) and is open to all Club members who have posted at least two times in the 2016 season.

In addition to the Handicap Trophy there is also a Trophy for the fastest time for the two circuits.

With 24 points on offer (Guests and First Timer do not count) this was another good night to achieve a PB and congratulations to Glyn Cartwright at his second TT for taking 38 seconds from his opening time and gaining the maximum points on offer.

Mr PB Consistency, Sam MacDonald, continues to lead the table however Keith Barton is not very far behind and watch out for Jane Kinnaird and Neil Adams ready to take advantage of any slip up by the leaders.
