TT Results for 25th April 2019
It has been eight long months since the last Club TT on the 11.2 mile Abbotsley course and 23 riders were at the start line to commence the start of the 2019 season.
Very good to see a few first timers willing to test themselves and welcome to Mandy and Richard Rogers and to Matt Gurnell. We welcomed back Ian and Kevin Stokes who tell us they have been attending our TT since 1997 and we also welcomed two other guests Fiona Wylde and Gareth Hurst (son of Alan). A reasonably benign evening but with a testing wind on the climb past the golf course and up to Tetworth hill there were unlikely to be any PBs this evening. Nic Pillinger was fastest home this evening followed by Simon Elkington with Kevin Stokes claiming third spot. The maximum handicap points were picked up by Richard Bond who was only 15 seconds from his PB.
Thanks to Mandy for the timekeeping and the excellent lemon drizzle cake and to Simon Richardson for helping with the pushing off.
Tonight was a farewell to Dave Richards who has been a regular for the past few years who has decided to move to warmer weather for his riding in Spain. He leaves with an impressive PB of 30:09 achieved when he was 70. We look forward to seeing a few more of the “regulars” at the TT over the coming weeks.

Handicap Results
Quick reminder that for the Handicap Trophy points are awarded for the number of riders on the night less Guests and First Time Members. So tonight 23 riders and 16 points on offer. A Handicap Time of 25 minutes or less means that you have either matched your PB or improved on it. A Handicap Time greater than 25 minutes shows how much you are off your PB.
To be in contention to win the 2019 Handicap Trophy you need to do as many TTs as you can and ride as close to or improve on your PB consistently until the end of the season.
