McDonald sub 25 minutes for the first time
The highlight of this evening’s TT was Sam McDonald posting a sub 25 minute time of 24:45 on the 11.2 mile Abbotsley course at the 6th SNCC TT of the 2019 season.
Of the current membership only two others have posted sub 25 minute times and Sam averaged 27 mph around the course.
Unlike the favourable wind conditions of the previous week this evening the wind decided to make everyone work that bit harder and the 5 riders who posted PB’s had to work hard for the first 6/7 miles to take advantage of the favourable wind over the last few miles.
Sam was fastest home this evening ,as noted above ,followed by Simon and Mark.
Congratulations to Sam , Mandy , Mark , Simon and Richard on their respective PB’s.
Good to see another club member try the TT and Ian Macaulay delivered a very respectable 30:18 on his first TT.
Average time was 30:41.
A strange evening in that we did not have Mandy to control the entries and handle the timekeeping. Simon Richardson and Mike Biggs have been serving their timekeeping apprenticeship over the past few weeks ready to step in and take over these responsibilities. Well done and thanks.
Housekeeping : Reminder that the CTT levy increased to £3/TT for 2019 and a request that once the first riders have lined up for the start that other riders do not ride past the start line as part of their warm up.

Handicap Results
Quick reminder that for the Handicap Trophy points are awarded for the number of riders on the night less Guests and First Time Members. So tonight 22 riders and 18 points on offer. A Handicap Time of 25 minutes or less means that you have either matched your PB or improved on it. A Handicap Time greater than 25 minutes shows how much you are off your PB.
To be in contention to win the 2019 Handicap Trophy you need to do as many TTs as you can and ride as close to or improve on your PB consistently until the end of the season.

Handicap Trophy – 2019 – Running Total
Simon Murphy after 6 TT’s continues to hold a small advantage over Simon E in the race for the 2019 Handicap Trophy. Pat, Norman and Matt remain firmly in contention.
12 TT’s left this season plus the Ashman means that there are very more points up for offer for this season.
