5 PB’s Tonight.
Normal service was resumed this evening, after last week’s cancelled TT,
with 21 riders ready at the start line to push round the 11.2 mile SNCC TT course at Abbotsley. It was dry and speculation was that the wind would be against for the three miles to the golf club turn and then it would relent and perhaps favour the riders.
As it turned out 5 riders enjoyed the conditions and well done to Ruth, Wayne, Simon, Richard and Martin for returning their respective PB’s.
Simon Elkington pushed under 26 minutes for the first time already this season and with his 25:20 tonight he is closing in on a sub 25 minute. He was fastest home followed by our recent TOC TT winner (see website) Pat with our old friend and guest rider Michael in third spot.
Martin and Ruth were only three and five seconds respectively from going sub 30 minutes for the first time.
The battle of the Bonds continued this evening with son Richard (following his recent PB) going off after his father Martin for the first time and Richard took a further 16 seconds from his PB and Martin 5 seconds.
A warm welcome back this evening to Roger Silk following his recent operation and we had the rare sight of Simon Richardson in his camouflaged cargo pants going around on his mountain bike and only eight minutes off his PB.
As always, our thanks to Mandy, Mike and John for the sign on, timekeeping, pushing off and the signage and also to Mandy for the wonderful chocolate cake at the end.
Care warning on the left hand turns on the course. Do avoid crossing the white line when you make those turns. This is for your safety.
Housekeeping : Reminder that the CTT levy increased to £3/TT for 2019 and a request that once the first riders have lined up for the start that other riders do not ride past the start line as part of their warm up.
Next TT – Thursday 27th June – Sign on by 7.00 and Start at 7.15 pm

Handicap Results
Quick reminder that for the Handicap Trophy points are awarded for the number of riders on the night less Guests and First Time Members. So tonight 21 riders and 18 points on offer. A Handicap Time of 25 minutes or less means that you have either matched your PB or improved on it. A Handicap Time greater than 25 minutes shows how much you are off your PB.
To be in contention to win the 2019 Handicap Trophy you need to do as many TTs as you can and ride as close to or improve on your PB consistently until the end of the season.
Congratulations to Ruth for taking the maximum 18 points this evening and taking 43 seconds from her PB.

Handicap Trophy – 2019 – Running Total
In the absence of Simon M this evening Simon E had the opportunity to make up some ground and with his PB and 16 points has now opened up small lead of 3.5 points.
9 TT’s left this season plus the Ashman means that there are very more points up for offer for this season.
