The Over 60’s lead the way with PBs.
The portents for some good times was certainly on the cards for the 15 riders ready to test themselves on the 11.2 mile circuit around Abbotsley.
Favourable wind conditions on a dry balmy evening provided 3 PB’s for Leon, Norman and Jim which just goes to show that age is not a barrier with Leon at 77 and Norman and Jim mere youngsters in their 60’s.
Simon Murphy was quickest home this evening and only two seconds from his PB, followed by Pat with Richard in third spot who was also two seconds from his PB.
Welcome this evening to Gordon Foster trying out the TT for the first time and as he lives in Abbotsley certainly has the shortest journey to the start line.
We regularly have guest riders at the TT and this season Fiona Wylde has ridden 11 TT’s and this evening posted her best time of the season with a 35:27. Ian Stokes, 7 TT’s in 2019, has been riding our TT since 2003 which is probably longer than anyone in the Club other than Leon.
Special thanks this evening to John for stepping in to help with the timekeeping and again to Mike for all his help to allow the rest of us to ride.
With Simon Elkington absent this evening Simon Murphy was able to extend his lead for the 2019 Handicap Trophy.
Housekeeping: Reminder that the CTT levy increased to £3/TT for 2019 and a request that once the first riders have lined up for the start that other riders do not ride past the start line as part of their warm up.

Handicap Results
Quick reminder that for the Handicap Trophy points are awarded for the number of riders on the night less Guests and First Time Members. So tonight 15 riders and 12 points on offer. A Handicap Time of 25 minutes or less means that you have either matched your PB or improved on it. A Handicap Time greater than 25 minutes shows how much you are off your PB.
To be in contention to win the 2019 Handicap Trophy you need to do as many TTs as you can and ride as close to or improve on your PB consistently until the end of the season.

Handicap Trophy – 2019 – Running Total
The destiny of the 2019 Handicap Trophy remains undetermined as we enter the final phase of the season with 4 TT’s left.
For the leaders any TTs missed now could easily affect the outcome for the Trophy and riding to your PB or improving it for the next 4 events will certainly keep them in contention.
Simon Murphy has opened up 24.5 point lead over Simon Elkington but will this be enough to take home the Trophy or will Simon Elkington win for the third consecutive year?
