3 PBs tonight...
15 riders tonight for the 12th TT of the SNCC 2021 season with three riders improving their PBs. Congratulations to Paul Williamson , Simon Brick and Martin Bond for all finding that extra few seconds.
Sam McDonald added yet another sub 25 minute performance to bring his tally for the season to nine and adding on his two sub 25 minute laps at the Ashman last Sunday a total of eleven so far for 2021. Paul Williamson , who continues to improve week on week , was second fastest home with Richard Bond third on the night.
The Bond family tussle continues to rumble with father Martin finding another ten seconds to take his PB down to 29:38 but still a fair bit to go to catch Richard !
We were missing a few regulars this evening and all the best to Simon Elkington who managed to break his collar bone during the week and also to Frances Lammyman who came off on the chain gang on Tuesday. A speedy recovery to both.
The destiny of the 2021 Handicap Trophy , with four TTs left , is going to be very hard to call at this point. Only half a point separates Sam and Simon B and this will be one of the closest finishes for a few years. The former winner from 2016 versus the first timer – who will prevail ?
Our thanks to the Lendrum family this evening with Florence on timekeeping duties and father George helping with the pushing off.
A few housekeeping reminders to keep us all safe and compliant:
- remember a working rear light – mandated by CTT
- try not to ride past the start when other riders are starting
- be aware of cars and other riders after you finish
- even before covid, Timekeepers need to be able to concentrate on giving every rider the correct time. Please do not try to see your time until everyone has finished
- Paying in advance is very helpful and thanks to the 22 riders who have done this. Pay for 6 rides (£4 for member, £5 for guest) to 404010 and 80724513 and credit will be carried over for any unused rides.
NEXT TT – THURSDAY 29th July – 7:00 pm START – SIGN ON BY 6:45pm at the latest.
N.B. – Earlier start time next Thursday of 7 pm

Handicap Trophy – 2021
Quick reminder that for the Handicap Trophy points are awarded for the number of riders on the night less Guests and First Time Members. So tonight, 15 riders and 14 points on offer. A Handicap Time of 25 minutes or less means that you have either matched your PB or improved on it. A Handicap Time greater than 25 minutes shows how much you are off your PB.
To be in contention to win the 2021 Handicap Trophy you need to ride as close to your PB as possible or set some new PB’s over the next few months.
Congratulations to Paul Williamson for taking the maximum points on offer tonight by finding another twenty four seconds off his PB.
