For all those who failed to get in through the ballot, I had an email today about London Ride 100 group entries. The deal is:
- Entry for BC affiliated clubs
- Only BC members can enter (so if you're an SNCC member but not a BC member, sorry you can't apply)
- Clubs can enter more than one team
- Teams are of 4 people and must be either all male, all female or 50/50
- entry £48/rider
I'm keen and Gareth and Andy M have expressed an interest...

That's OK Geoff, some of us are actually willing to pay a bit to try and promote OUR club somewhat even if we've only been a member for less than 12 months and no matter where we come in the rankings (though it would be nice to get a decent pace/position)
Also not every day those roads are closed for cyclists, maybe only once every four years or so

to be honest, it's £48 for the pleasure of being about to sprint down The Mall on closed roads (sprint might be a bit of a stretch at the end of the ride, but that's how it is in my head at the moment!!)
Usually a group 2, not ridden as much as I would like of late, so I'll be hitting the turbo again over the weekend (though not Sunday, free trip with hospitality to the Touring Cars!!)

I was with Geoff before for normal sportives, but not with him on this one with closed roads - I can see why this event costs that much.
Anyway, we all know our positions on the cost and value for money of sportives now so let's not have all the Ride threads descend into whether each ride is value for money or not. At the end of the day, it's people's individual choice, we've all had our say and so let's leave it at that.

Yeah, this one is a bit different to the usual sportive. Closed roads from the Olympic Park, through central London and up Box Hill with 20,000 other riders. Not something you get to do very often...
