Flat out at the fens 17th June was created by Ruth
Hi

I'm doing the 112 mile option, a nice flat route (don't do hills)
thought i'd put it out there if anyone fancies it???

Just hope it's not a windy day: could be harder than 112 miles with some hills.

Hi Ruth,
Count me out but I know Steve Blows has been thinking about it.

Good luck, but being a native fen boy I can think of nothing worse than a 20mile headwind alongside a drain!

So i made it round!

still waiting for offical total time but around 7 hours

6:45 riding time for 116 miles (8 extra due to 2 arrows missing)
a bit miffed that i missed the 6:30 gold standard probably due to the extra miles
average 17.1mph

the wind was a B**ch but not as bad as it could have been
:cheer:

think you should all come and do it next year
also think i recruited 2 for the sportive (they were my wind breaks for 70 miles, got to get shelter where you can :) )

Excellent Ruth, fancy coming on the Peterborough Sportive on 8th July?

Although I think it clashes with the Ashman Handicap TT

I had looked at the Peterborough one, i'm not sure as i have 2 Tri's in July one on the 1st and one on the 22nd.

If there are places left i might enter on the day if i'm feeling up to it. Or if a few of us are doing it then i will, its always much nicer in a group (if your not to fast for me that is :) )

Perfect training for tris. As I won't be doing the Ashman and club run is likely to be depleted as a result of the Ashman might well do the Peterborough sportive.
