And another one, next weekend, Richard O's home town is on the route if I remember correctly (sorry can't find the original thread which was a call for volunteers).
Anyone planning to ride up to Whittlesey (sp?) to show some support. The support race is sold out so (un)fortunately anyone in SNCC colours won't be nabbed to lead Richard out

Any support will be more than welcome! More info about the race can be found here: http://www.circuitoffens.co.uk/ - However, in brief there are two races an elite and an amateur one, over 200 riders altogether. There will be a ceremonial start from Whittlesey Market square around midday. The two races will be 15mins apart but head out on to the same Fen circuit before return to Whittlesey later in the afternoon. For the amateur race it will be a starightforward sprint to the line, while the elites will do a few circuits around the town centre on closed roads. There will be plenty of other stuff in the town going on too.
Finally the organisers have asked for marhsalls for the finishing circuit. If you're interested in doing this, you'll need to be available for a briefing from 3pm. It should be a good opportunity to get close to the action, think a tour series race, but with the riders already having done 180km! Please let me know!
cheers

Threw this together this morning if anyone is interested in riding up. Don't know St Ives that well so just took what looked like the easiest route through it. All suggestions welcome!
connect.garmin.com/course/3888647
Race manual says a 12:00 start for Elites/National A race and 12:15 for Regional A (which Richard is in). Finishes at 17:00 and 15:15 approximately.
Thirty three miles out, possibly come back via Huntingdon/Godmanchester as it is one "hop" on the ring road rather than 95% of it!
I appreciate that some may think it's a bit early but considering heading out at 08:30 aiming to get their around 10:30 mainly because not only is Richard racing but one of the guys I work with is also doing the Regional A race.
