Bah humbug,
the lack of having to naviagate and seeing somewhere different with full support, feed stations etc i think is is OK for £30, i'm sure they make a profit but they wouldn't do it otherwise.

I'm tempted but what's the point of doing the gentle parts of the south downs? 
Just kidding, there's some lovely countryside down that way. Had a chance to ride some of it (used to the Kent South Downs from a misspent youth) in April the day before the New Forest sportive.
