Saturday Winter Miles was created by Ch3rryGh0st
There was a regular Saturday ride throughout last Autumn and Winter, and I'm wondering if the interest is there again this year? A regular, organised ride might help a few of us get out of bed and put in the miles on a cold, damp Saturday morning when we might otherwise pull the duvet over our heads.

My expectation is that the rides will be a single group riding a single route, leaving St Neots around 0830, as was the case last Winter. The distance is likely be between 80k and 100k, though it could be a little more or less, and the pace will mirror that of a relaxed G2 ride. However, all abilities are welcome, and riders who want to step up to the medium or long G2 rides will be encouraged to come along, too. My expectation is that the group will stay together and work together, whatever the range of abilities out on the ride. Coffee stops can be planned in, should there be a demand to taste something other than Caffe Nero's offerings.

I'm happy to organise a route for the ride each week with the aim of making it sufficiently different to the Sunday club runs to avoid "Oundle Fatigue", which means there may be a degree of experimentation in the routes, too. As a result, getting lost may feature from time to time.

Thoughts?

I would be interested, although in my case it would have to be 'instead of' rather than 'as well as' a Sunday outing

Andy as I work a lot of weekends this would help when I have to work Sundays.

I'm in, this was enjoyable last year (until a slight incident involving coming into bodily contact with tarmac, on a Sunday I hasten to add)

Contact with tarmac is good. I like both my wheels that way.

I don't always find it possible to make the club rides on a Sunday so a Saturday "option" would be good for me - you can count me in as an "occasional" participant. You never know, I might even be able to make both days some weekends (well there's always hope!!!).

I would certainly be up for it most weeks and given my only prior Andy riding day trip included a mandatory cake stop, hot sunshine, a downpour, getting lost (+10miles) and a mechanical, I will know to tell the wife don't worry until I am at least 2hrs later than the the anticipated eta :P

The upside was I got a garmin for xmas from said wife and already allowed to use it :woohoo:

a downpour, getting lost (+10miles)

I'm blaming both of these on one Christopher Preston Esq. He looked so confident as he lead us down to that busy A10 junction in the pouring rain, so I just assumed he knew where he was going ;)

You'll have nothing to open on Christmas morning, now...

I have to box it up Christmas eve so I can open on the day and pretend like normal

As for Mr Preston I have only seen him twice since that occasion both times on the side of the road on his mobile, I assume getting directions or calling to say he will be late home
