I know this question will probably crash this forum due to all the positive replies I will get but myself and the club chairman were wondering if any club members would like to participate in a club ride using single speed bikes. This is a one time offer never to be repeated unless as anticipated the uptake of this proposal will be mammoth. I will now sit back in my recliner chair and await all the positivity. ( I would appreciate if you can use a 16 toothed sprocket on the rear to give me a fighting chance of staying with the pack).
Its really is complicated

Can people with geared bikes tag along if they promise not to change gears?

Tim, this is a positive sign. Single speed bikes don't cost a lot. Reckon you can get one for next w/e?
Andy, I'm afraid I agree with Terry, the temptation to start using your gears may just be too strong. For the cost of Di2 groupset you could buy 3 or 4 single speed bikes, or just the one single speed bike and a slightly lower spec groupset.
Mark, I think we would have to give a trial run, but please do.
Anyway, when it comes to winter riding, gears are an unmanly affectation. They are also stupidly low maintenance.
