For those interested:-

Run and organised by the Rotary Club of Bedford Park with the help of the Elected Mayor of Bedford, Dave Hodgson, a unique closed road event has been created which begins and ends in the historic market town of Bedford.

Starting in Bedford Park the route passes the imposing tree-lines villas of De Parys Avenue before turning along Bedford’s famed embankment and climbing Cleat Hill into the undulating countryside of North Bedfordshire.

If there is any misapprehension that our beautiful county is lacking in contours these will soon disappear as you traverse the characterful North Bedfordshire villages of Ravensden, Renhold, Wilden, Colmworth, Swineshead, Riseley, Keysoe and Thurleigh before returning to Bedford Park.

not an event for me, but £40 for 80 miles of closed roads is probably much better value at 50p a mile than the majority of the TTs or CX races (on 'open' public roads or land) I've entered - obvious exception being the exceptional value of just £2 for 11.2 miles of Abbotsley TT 'fun' ;)

Unfortunately it's only 80km rather than 80 miles, but it is closed roads and not much more than a standard Wiggle ride. Also, in the words of Mike Smash and Dave Nice "It's for 'charidee'".... :)

That's an absolute bargain compared to the tour of cambs TT at £50 for 17 miles-but that does have a start ramp :)
