This Sunday a group is planning to head up to Rutland to watch the Rutland - Melton Cicle Road Race.
www.cicleclassic.co.uk/ Britains top teams and riders (OK Sky won't be there), plus 9 teams from Belgium, Spain, Paraguay, Denmark, Austria and Algeria will be competing.
Weather permitting, a group of us are planning to ride to Owston Village to watch the race. The race passes through the village several times, it's also on top of a hill just after an off road section, so you'll see lots of pained and dirty faces. There will also be a BBQ and commentary (Previous years courtesy of Hugh Porter no less!) in the village.
Regards timing. The race is expected to first pass through Owston at 1240, so I suggest we aim to get there for Midday. It is an increasingly hilly 49miles from St Neots, so we should probably aim to leave no later than 9am. There may be an option to have some stuff (footwear?/extra food) driven up.
So, Who's interested?
