I thought you might like to see the reply I receieved regarding hiring the Velodrome.
Dear Mark,
Thank you for your enquiry regarding Velodrome usage now that the London Olympic games are over.
Due to all the conversion and reconstruction work which will be taking place after the games, the VeloPark will not be opening until around late December 2013.
This is in keeping with the entire Olympic Park’s schedule for redevelopment as it transitions into becoming the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
For an exciting look at the timeline for the development of the park just visit www.noordinarypark.co.uk
During that time we are building a large road cycling circuit, a vast network of mountain bike trails, and a pump track section as well as embellishing and improving both the Velodrome and the BMX track.
We anticipate that once we open, VeloPark will be the most complete premier cycle sport venue in the world. Due to the massive amount of work involved in all of the above reconstruction we cannot yet confirm an exact date when any VeloPark users will be able to book themselves in.
Please do rest assured though that we are working as hard as we can to make the facilities available for bookings and events as soon after the games as is possible.
Please do keep an eye on www.leevalleypark.org.uk after the games for more information regarding our timelines.
