hi the excellent posting re clm/tri bike riders joining the club runs from carbon Phill was a interesting discussion.,may i add.what is the club position on MTB's riding on club runs. from a personal point i believe MTB riders are a definite security risk when mixed with riders on "racing bikes"..G..

Geoff is your sole aim in life to antagonise people and stir things up?

Had an off topic conversation about bikes allowed and was asked about Penny farthings. So... Road bikes, single speed on a freewheel, tourers, cyclo-cross, certain types of folding bike, MTB and Hybrid are all fine, although for the later advise using slicks and locking out any suspension.

Bikes not allowed on the club run include: Penny Farthings, BMX, unicycle, balance bikes, Dutch style/sit-up and beg bikes (Would advise the Sustrans ranger rides for those), Freight bikes, choppers, Boris bikes, cruisers, rickshaws, electric/power assisted bikes, track bikes, velocipedes, trials bikes, tesco bikes with back to front forks, recumbents, Graham Obree's land speed record attempt bike and stationary exercise bikes

Pimping your ride is allowed within reason and provided your bike is still safe.

Decision on TT bikes is pending

'Tis a pity, I know the current Knutsford female penny champion, She may just have consented to pay a visit. (Charlotte amongst many other things is known for doing the Dun run on a penny, albeit with sore bum).

would like an independent ruling on Boris Bikes as has been proved on the SNCC jolly last year that they are very capable steeds for most purposes..TT,commuting etc.

+1

And a ruling on Dutch sit up and beg bikes as they are a brilliant wheel to follow. Better than a Derny
