Does the club have any plans to support Comic Relief next month? I understand the date for 2013 is Friday 15 March, so perhaps we could do something on the 17 March club run, the previous weekend or even at the March social, if this is something people feel they are happy to support?
Some ideas I had this morning over porridge:
- Red Noses for all riders in March? We could attach them to the front of our stems or our helmets (I feel like Benny Hill), or just wear them as we ride? I'm happy to do the Red Nose-buying in advance, and the noses are £1 each.
- Raffle at the March social night?
- Quiz night at the March social night? I'm happy to come up with some questions.
- I could persuade my wife to make some post-ride cakes for the 17 March run, if people are willing to donate to Comic Relief for a slice of the best coffee cake you will ever -- ever -- taste (other cakes can be available, too, of course)? I'll clear it with Cafe Neros first, obviously.
- Fancy dress on the 17 March club run? I'm not sure how practical this is, in reality, or quite how it would raise money, though.
Anyway, what do people think? Any other ideas?

I hadn't realised it was on! No plans from the committee to do anything, but if someone wants to organise something that's fine by me - I like the red nose idea!

I shall purchase a number of Red Noses from Oxfam, in that case, Richard. People can buy one from me on Thursday or a Sunday morning, if they want to wear/install one.
We can bounce other ideas around at this week's social and see what people think.

Ash -- I can't allow Chris, or anyone, to have too much cake as I'll be counting on their being plenty left over for me

Best I not have any cake at all then
The red noses does sound like a good idea though.

An excellent idea but beware, there will be many club riders out on 16th on 'No Excuses' Sportive.
Dressing up! There might be one club member up for that if he can wear nail varnish!!

And there need be, ahem, 'No Excuses' for those riding not to wear their Red Noses that day, too, and all through March, I reckon
I fully support the right of any individual to wear nail varnish, and any other make-up they want to wear, at all times, but if they expect sponsorship for Comic Relief it needs to be in club colours and not subtle

I have an excuse ... the second batch of tickets "sold out"
Though likely to cycle up to Brampton with everyone doing it.

No Excuse for not wearing your Red Nose, if/when you do ride, though!
