Ok, leaving aside the love 'em or hate 'em argument, if a country's law if forcing them to keep them, surely it's better that all tems are complying to the same regulations??
Making sure that our wheels aren't rounder than everyone elses as the French acussed us of in the Olympics (even though we were using French wheels!!)

I can see your point, but don't agree with the principle. Why should an international sporting body have its rules dictated by whatever bonkers laws individual nations choose to pass? Why must French teams obey this stupid French law even when they are not racing in France? Why did non-French teams have the choice not to obey the law when racing in France (before the imposition of the UCI rule? It's nonsense and the UCI are creating a hostage to fortune by agreeing with the nonsense. What will they do when some officious fat government official decides it is illegal for all Spanish or Lithuanian or Swedish cyclists to ride without lights at all times or without at least one hand on the handlebars at all times?

oh yes, completely agree with those points as well, just saying that they should all be abiding by the same rule, I too think they're stupid, but am too lazy to take mine off!!
sporting rules should not be dictated by the rules of a public highway, unless run on open roads of course!!

Takes about 20 seconds with a flat file. If carbon cover with transparent nail polish. If ally, touch up with matching paint or leave as is.

Yes, I believe they mostly do now and carbon forks with alloy dropouts also have them.

Carbon and alloy forks have lawyer tabs (but actually its bog all to do with the fork material its the material of the dropout which on all but the most expensive carbon forks will be alloy.) And the final word - get a file (I have one people can borrow but not if you have expensive carbon forks with carbon drop outs.)
