Some of us traded the post ride cafe in for a post ride pub by all accounts ...

Myself, Tony and (new girl) Sharon stopped at Beans coffee shop in Oundle last weekened. The coffee was very nice, the cherry and coconut flapjack was excellent and sitting outside watching the world go by on a sunny afternoon was most pleasant.
I wouldn't say it was better than the Coffee Tavern, just a short freewheel away, but it was a nice alternative and a good excuse to try somewhere different. Definitely worth a visit when passing through Oundle, especially if you want to sit outside and keep those tan lines topped up.

Teacake at Shepreth
I stopped off here for coffee and cake last Saturday. The Monmouth coffee was excellent, as was the almond, carrot and lemon cake. They have a nice, secluded garden to the rear where bikes can be stored and it offers good cover from any wind, too. There was a wide range of food and drink, rather than just the usual cake/scone/flapjack offerings (though they had those, too). Lots of gluten free items, all made in-house, and lots of local produce.
The owners were very friendly (despite me wandering into the cafe through the kitchen) and helpful. Highly recommended for a cake stop, especially if you want something more substantial than cake.

You should all join the Women's Institute. I believe they have excellent cake related credentials
