Can anyone think of a reason not to get the Shimano R501 wheelset with bladed spokes??
My Mavic Cosmos have had it, and i've found these for about £72, seems like a bargain!!

That's what I have on my bike atm, I can say they're better than the stock wheels I got with either of my bikes but that's not saying much

. IIRC, I got mine from Ribble with tubes and tyres all in for less than £120.

I think if you already have a half decent set of wheels then these aren't going to give you any advantage. They're pretty basic, hence the cheap price.
FWIW, I had Rubino pro slicks on mine and one got sliced badly and the club run a couple of weeks ago. That was me with the comedy puncture and no-one near the bike.

. I think if you can spare the extra cash, the Vredstein tricomps I now have a very decent. Recommended by Andy Mc of this very parish.

Mavic cosmos, from 2000/2001
Bearings are ropey, can't keep the axel tight, and the rim is rather wonkey!!
Just want something robust for doing plenty of miles, it's R501s or mavic aksium, and the shimano are so much cheaper!!

Well i've pulled the trigger, picked a different version of the rubino in the end, ones with extra puncture protection.

Oh i love Mavic, and was about to get a set of Aksiums, but as the shimanos come in at about half the price, swayed the decision somewhat.
And yes, Ksyriums would be amazing, but really not going to happen, not unless i can sell a horse or a kidney or something!
