Reaction to the recent survey is hugely positive but still in my opinion misses the older, slower, cycling fraternity at somewhere around the 10 mph. I recently qualified as an advanced ride leader with sustrans and would be happy to take a slower group gambling across the patchwork of local runs. As long as the ethos is that of the club I cant see that this is something that shouldnt be looked at?

This is something the local St Neots Sustrans group already offer, so you may want to look at that first, although if you're a Sustrans ride leader, perhaps you're already aware of them?
We currently have three pace/distance groups. The slowest of these does 30mile ride at about 14mph. to date, there hasn't been demand for rides slower than this. There is also the problem of finding people to lead the ride. However, if this is something you're happy and willing to and don't see a problem adding it as an other club run option.
What sort of distance are you thinking about?

Something at last for Geoff, Leon, Colin, Mark, Alistair and me

. Where do you draw the line if you're a road club?
But seriously, there's no reason not to organise something if you're willing to manage it and there's a call for it.
