mini hot cross bun ride was created by Stuartliles
Having seen the recently posted routes for the official Hot Cross Bun ride on Good Friday would anyone like to participate in a slightly slower and shorter alternative?

Thinking 30-35 miles at around 15-16 avg and back to Neros on the Market Square for coffee and cake. Start time the same at 8:30am.

FWIW, when it says under 18mph average that's going to cover most people and I'm sure there's going to be a group doing around 16mph av. Why not go for the full ride? There's some superb roads out Oundle way.

I'm probably going out on a limb here (and jinxing it) but I reckon the weather is going to be better than last year too. When we stopped in Oundle last year there was a few flakes of snow!

I for one will not be doing 18mph once I'm full of cake!!

There's quite a few of the normal 'slow medium' group out Friday so if you fancy the longer route I'm sure you'll find the pace fine

s'alright I'm not doing it either. Family commitments mean that time is at a premium as usual.

Thank you all for the kind sentiments but unfortunately my perceived fitness does not correspond with the reality of my actual fitness! :-(

I noticed earlier that the proposed route had now been adjusted slightly to although people to loop back when they get to Wilwick.

For those interested I adjusted the overall route to reflect the shortened option and it works out at just under 40 miles, link below for reference;
