Fancy something a little different on the Sunday (25th May) of the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend? How does this sound?
Early train (7.08) down to Kings Cross, out of London via Swain's Lane (www.urbanhillclimb.com/) to The Hub in Redbourn for a coffee (www.redbourn.org.uk/Redbourn/TheHub), then onto home. Here's the route: connect.garmin.com/course/6532996 .

Meet at the station just before 7, we'll work to a pace for everyone but it's expected that we all share the work at the front.

Tony, not sure if you've been to The Hub before?

I did an out and return ride out from Sandy a month ago to The Hub.

It is well worth it. Great homemade cakes, fantastic coffee, very warm welcome and full of bike stuff

Enjoy The Hub

Tony the Hub is amazing, almost as good as Bruce's place, ProCycle Hire in Majorca! But are the trains OK?? Normal engineering work may scupper plans!

Either way enjoy...

You can't beat personal recommendations, I've never visited so I'm hoping the hub lives up to it's reputation :). The other alternative is to get some panniers, head East out to Brick Lane for a Beigel or 2 and fill the bags up with them. Trains look alright Sharon, this could all change of course!

I can't make this one, but this is my favourite post EVER!!!!!!

St Neots is my club and I like riding with you guys, for this I can cycle with you back from London (where I live :( ) Then I can get the train back :woohoo:

So anytime you guys fancy it again, i'm in.

Next time definately :). The Brick Lane detour got some very approving nods from my wife so we could go out that way, and maybe stop at the Blue Egg (www.theblueegg.co.uk/) as frequented by Cav, Dowsett & co.

I'm assuming that the left turn at around 60km is to go up a bloody great hill

Ah you moaner ;), It's the backside of Hexton Hill which we did on a club run a few weeks back, that was a doozy! Actually I put the route that way so we can do the drop into Harlington. Fun with a capital F :).

I'm probably more likely to jump on at Sandy (7.15 to KX) if I can - not that I'm expecting it to be busy, but would be handy to know which end of the train to aim for

A great day out and thanks to Tony and Simon for waiting for me after the climbs and nursing me at certain points.

Would recommend this to anyone who fancies a break from the norm and the hub at redbone is defiantly worth a visit. ...oh and swains lane wasn't that bad ;)
