You going to buy one?
I like the idea of disc brakes for a cross bike (which is why you have yours) but I would not part with the huge outlay just for road use.

I'm VERY tempted..
Part of the reason for NOT going for the Saxon Cross (the top of the three models in Whyte's 'Cross range) was that I knew I would be upgrading components in time, and the only difference between my Charing Cross and the Saxon Cross (apart from components) is that the top tube on the Saxon is 3mm longer.
I'm intending on going to the cycle show at the NEC next month so hopefully will get a good look at it there.
It DOES mean, if I do take the plunge, it'll be both levers AND calipers I'll need to get, so won't be cheap.
AND, I can't help drooling over those Crank Brothers Cobalt 29 wheels

(the number 2 model)
I suspect that might be overkill tho.

Well if your going to do it, may as well do it proper! good for you.
I'd like the opportunity to ride my winterbike on a cyclocross race, however it is a carbon giant frame which makes it impossible. It's a shame that no one has created a solution for creating more clearance and replacing the calipers. The fork is easily enough changed to provide more clearance and give the more obvious routes a go. but the rear. (wish to keep using same wheels also)

Come to to think of it my Giant has long reach calipers (=more clearance) so therefore I will show as bigger tyres as I can manage on it, stick on some SPDs and off I go...
