Yes - it's the opening and closing of the checkpoints - in practice, it's only ever the first one that's an issue (ie you could arrive before it opens and have to wait a few minutes). Generally after that you don't have an issue (remember the 30kph includes coffee, food and pee breaks - your moving average can be higher). The lower limit (when they shut) is never an issue as you'll be long gone. I found that allowing around 7.5 hours for a 200 and 12 hours for a 300 was about right even if your moving average is near the top limit.Interesting to note that there is a maximum/minimum average speed,perhaps Alec could enlighten ?
