HAHA, My legs are stiff today from that!!
Yep replaced, but had to beg for another cable retaining bolt and washer as I had lost mine.... Note to self, any loose bolts, nuts put in your pocket as you will loose them as they vibrate their way out, even if hand tight!!

Dare I Say Wayne (perhaps before anyone else) that you have always had a few screws loose.
For those who have not seen Wayne play (excellent) Hockey, he was wiped out many players with some amazing sliding tackles...remember with sticks on astro pitches so much more painful than football tackles.
Wayne I just happened to be on the Grafham website and seen they do Safety checks for £24.99 plus you get a discount lol ... I would not want to see come a cropper again.

Haha, I couldn't forget those days, not when my scared knees pose a constant reminder!
I needed fat knobbly tyres (or use the bridge) to have not come a cropper in that Ford!! It was the impact of coming down pulled the cable out from the derailleur, and as the cable tail had broke at the retaining nut I had no length to pull it back though and secure again. It was that nut I should have taken straight out.
Nevertheless good to know that they do safety checks on bikes

what about people......

Well I wouldn't bother about Grafham in hindsight, I just called to put new wheels / cassette etc on and cant fit me in until Ocotber 15th
I am happy to run my hands over your knees and give you a once over but not sure that would be good for either of our reputation's not to mention how Sarah and Sade might respond

Yes, lets not do that.......
The club have some really experienced DIY bike mechanics, so I would suggest starting a new post and there will be plenty willing to lend tools and hands, and will cost you a little more than a couple of pints at a social

I understand Chris Preston loans his tools out and is payable in cake, pies, scotch eggs or pints ...
And I'm still going with the Benny Hill theme as the club anthem!

Indeed, fitting a cassette is the work of a few minutes and every club cyclist should know how to do it. Have helped out a couple of others in the past and am happy to do so again if anyone wants to contact me through the contact form on the website.

It is a nice route and if you go further south into Clavering and Barkway it gets almost mountainous but that would be a longer ride than 100k unfortunately.
Bent dropout, a buckled wheel and smelling like a sweaty duck pond for the remaining 40 miles were my trophies for the day. You could also taste the disappointment in the air when those two women on mtbs took the bridge a few minutes after us.
