Group 2 chain gang was created by Ruth
I've had a few converstions with some of you about the possibility of starting a group 2 chain gang??

I was thinking if we were to meet at the same time and place as the group 1 chain gang and set off at the same time on the same route. Which i understand will change to wednesdays at 6pm in the market square now that TT has finished? (which is brilliant for me as i can't do tuesdays)

So i intened to turn up to what every group 1 post up for their chain gang, and if some people want to come for a group 2 ride great, if not i'll hang on for dear life to group 1 for about 7 miles!! :)

Bum.

I can't do Wednesdays as I have a weekly team meeting conference call at 8pm. Still, it's a good idea to go out the same night as group 1 as you say, you can always hang on for as long as you can.

I'm hoping that the group 1 chain gang will post on here, and that it will be this week.....??

I plan to ride the route tomorrow night anyway, usual time and place.
I also thought that maybe we operate the other system for rotating turns on the front as i think its a little easier, but we can discuss that and see what everyone would prefer, on a week by week basis.

I would be interested in a group 2 chain gang.

Unfortunately I would only be able to do one week in three because of my shift work ...if this takes off I can do next week.

Fair point G ,but if there was enough interest why shouldn't there be a slower chain gang .....not all of us can do 30+ miles at 20 mph avarage.

Look forward to your comments  ;)

hi there why not just call it a mid week ride for anybody,,the "chain gang " is for riders who WANT to ride at 35kph+ for 1hr.24mins (record.)..pussy footing about with controlled pace making does not work..do we start a gr 3 chain gang for the guys or gals who get shot "off the back" before the A1 going out..where does it end....G

I think the idea of a group 2 one is that, the current chang gang is just too fast for some of us, i came once, hung on for dear life for 9 miles and then fell off the back. After having already slowed the group down twice so i could try and hang on.

Personally i would rather go out in a second group a a slightly slower pace and not feel like i am a burden on all the others who can and want to go faster, but would feel obliged not to so that we all stuck together. Especially as the nights draw in.

If there is only 1 then i won't be coming, because i can't keep up and don't want to slow the others down
