Hi Alec - it would be great if you could come along. Plans are a bit up in the air at the moment, but the intention is to get some bikes into London by train or car (or ride!) and head over to the route. Do you know the area at all?
I think there are currently 2 definite and 2 possibles, and the more the merrier

I'm interested but won't be able to commit till really the last minute depending on work and my son.
If we can post the arrangements in here I can keep tabs on what's going on.

I may be interested in going. May be worth speaking to Steve Rodley who is working at the event about road closures etc

It's going to be at least 140 - 150 miles if we ride all the way there and back. I should have thought it would be relatively easy to park somewhere like Barnet or Watford and then cycle in from there.

Hi guys.
So speaking with Andrew (the original idea generator) we have come up with a plan.
Hopefully this suits with the people that wish to come along.
Wendesday 1st August.
Meet at the St Neots train station at 9:45 with bikes
Catch 10:08 train to London Kings Cross
Cycling from Kings Cross to Teddington area (around 20 miles)
Ride around Richmond park if people fancy it
Grab some lunch
Watch the Mens TT race from 2:15 to around 4pm
Cycle back to King Cross
Catch the 7:10pm back to St Neots (grab a Corish Pasty if one fancies)
So that's, thats the plan. Whos in?
Richard/Alec could you circulate via email please?

David - say 5 or 6 or more of us turn up with non-folding bikes - will they let us take them on the train? They have to go in the space near the doors: presumably only one bike per set of doors.
I don't know the answer to this but it wouldn't be good if one or more were turned away.

I think it can be at the discretion of the operator. Certainly going AFTER peak times will make it more likely but it's a valid concern.
Also, bear in mind there may already be bikes on the train from Peterboghorror or Huntingdon.
If I was to go in, it wouldn't be till later in the day due to work commitments so count me out of the current plant

I spoke to one of the St Neots station guards on Friday, he said they are expecting the trains to be much busier (standing) and advised avoiding the trains immediately after peak times. Things might quieten down from 11!
I'm definitely going.
