Andy -Ha, The frozen fingers one with a touch of hypothermia throwing in. Did it this year, it is a staight out and back to Burford with the control at Buckingham. It was a tough one, nearly half of the starters dropped out on the route. Some people were still suffering from it after a couple of weeks.
It is basically on the main roads in case of bad weather like this year. It's aimed more at RRtY people or diehards.
Terry - To see if you have the qualities to become a long distance junkie, or a grimper.

And entered. Wondering if I should get a bigger saddle bag (used to have a proper full size one that you could fit a lunch box in when I was a kid, shame my saddle doesn't have the mounting "tags")

It's a 100km ride. The same distance as a Sunday club run. How about one of these:

I hope the organisers will have a sense of humour as when asked to complete "I would like to ride with......" I answered "panache and vim", but knowing my luck I'll be paired up with 'Pam Ash' and her husband Jim.

That sounds hellish and tempting at the same time. If you decide to do it, let me know.

Andy,
I'll be doing it again in Feb. It is one of these rides where you need a bit of luck on the weather, the week before when Jackie pre-rode it she had perfect conditions on it, dry and sunny with light winds where as we had rain from the start freezing temperatures then when I arrived back at Buckingham on the return leg at around 5 it started snowing eventually riding back through a blizzard conditions for a bit.
