I'm all for mudguards in the winter but i'm sure I'll be in a very small minority because they don't look very 'pro' do they?
Not a case of looking pro, I have tried various ones and none seem to work due to the clearance, they end up rubbing the tyre and breaking so I have giving up on wasting money on them.

I've got Portland Design Works' Full Metal Fenders on my winter bike and they're excellent. Available to order through Grafham (if you want someone to fit them for you) or online.

having benefited from Andy's mudguards on what was possibly the wettest day of the year, I can confirm they not only work very well but also look good too............entirely unlike the 'Cruds' I have given up with and taken off; never was a product more accurately named

Just looked at the video, brilliant idea with the eyelet on the hub.
May seriously consider these.
What were Rutland charging?
Everyone know what happen to my last mud guards (hanging basket)
I like shiny things
